Next sewing project: Transforming tee's

I've been doing some internet searching on making changes to existing t-shirts. I have 3 t-shirts that I bought a long time ago with really high crew necks. Not the best look for me.

So I've decided for my next project I'll transform the necks of these t-shirts.

For the white t-shirt:

What I hope to see after:

For the black t-shirt:

What I hope to see after: (not a tank-top; just the neckline)

For the blue t-shirt:

Either this-

or something like this:

Yes I am obsessed with ruffles.

So far I have just cut existing necklines...no turning back now.

Next step - go to JoAnn's to see if I can find some matching knit fabric. One online seamstress suggested something called tissue knit that's really light weight. We'll see what I come up with!

a girl in my ward made that second ruffle top. and she wears it with a white t-shirt underneath, b/c she chopped of the sleeves (they were originally long sleeve -- to use that fabric for the ruffles so it would be the same color).

what a fun project! excited to see it finished!
