Weekend at the ranch

I love going up to the ranch! It's so peaceful, beautiful and so fun for everyone to get together in one place. I always hate it when the weekend comes to an end.

Rod and I arrived on Friday after work and had a great evening playing games (Rummikub - my bro-in-law Dave's favorite - and Apples to Apples).

Saturday we started off with one of Dad's famous breakfasts of waffles from Lehi Roller Mills, sausage and bacon from Owen's meats and perfectly cooked hashbrowns.

Eating dad's homecooked breakfast is one of my favorite parts of staying at the ranch. Yum. Wipe the drool off your chin.

In the afternoon, we all headed over to Yakima to see a movie (some saw Babies/some saw How to Train Your Dragon) and bring flowers to our grandparents' graves. It was a nice sunny day and we all enjoyed the trip. On our way back to Cle Elum, we stopped and ate dinner at The Palace.

We had beautiful weather for Mother's Day.

Dad made a delicious roast with mashed potatoes, Jenny brought everyone's favorite Pretzel Rolls from Alpine Land and Rod and I made a family favorite Orange Dreamy Jello Salad (I made the name up because that's what it tastes like); and Dave brought Cheesecake Factory cheesecake. Oh yes he did.

The weather was so nice we had the present party outside.

The rest of the day the kids played outside, the ladies sat in the sun and Rod and I went for a little jaunt in Dad's '67 Jeepster.

It was so fun to drive! Since my camera battery died, I couldn't take a photo of the car, but here's an ad from an old magazine so you can see what it looks like:

Unfortunately, I hurt (tore/strained/who knows) my leg and back (I guess when I was playing frisbee with Nicole), so I'm currently on the mend and hopped up on ibuprofen and free streaming movies from mylifetime.com. Not too shabby.
