Getting Nervous

So maybe it's not such a good idea to read other people's blogs about invitro. It's encouraging to read about successes...however, it seems that it's not until the 2nd or 3rd try before it has worked for many people. I haven't read one blog so far where IVF took on the very 1st try. It kind of makes me sick when I think about that.

I'm trying to stay positive, but the truth is I also have to be realistic. That's just me. Otherwise I couldn't go through all of this. I don't see it as a lack of faith or hope, because I know it could happen for us on the 1st try, I see it as being educated and accepting all of the potential outcomes to this process. That's the way I have to see it but be very hopeful at the same time. If I didn't believe it could happen for us, I wouldn't be doing it in the first place. We've felt like this is something we should do, and I know we've been blessed with the right doctor and miraculously with the money to do it. Now it's in the Lord's hands.

Anyway, I did read one blog about someone who (after 2 invitro cycles) is having triplets. Wow! Wouldn't that be a shocker! Hello. Rachael said she secretly thinks we'll have three and Natalie teases me that we'll have three. I guess whoever guesses it right will have to be our nanny. :) Ha! Any other predictions out there?

There can be a lot to get nervous about in the process. but there is a lot to get excited about.

Sucess rates very by process, clinic, age, health, etc. but generally is in the 44% Sucess range. Sucess in no higher or lower then at the first try.

Multiple pregnancy rate is in the 26-33% range

My conclution is you have a great chance at both pregnancy and multiables.

I'll go with twins on the first round.

Leave it to Walt to get all scientific on you. I'm going with one if you get more all the better... though I think more than three would be pushing it for you both. But one pregnancy 2-3 kids really doesn't sound that bad. Remember you would only have to lose the weight gain from it once. Sounds like a win to me.
