The big slap

I just have to shout out that continuing to get bills for medical procedures long after the trauma is over is just plain annoying.We received a bill from Reproductive Care for an additional $30.35. I guess it wasn't enough to have paid thousands. Keep in mind that we also had a $450.00 refund due to us for things we paid for up front (freezing embryos) but didn't use. But why don't you go ahead and bill us, tack on a fee saying it's past due and threaten us with collections if we don't pay it. UGH! We never even got a first bill! And what about the hundreds you owe us!?!

I called after my fuming had subsided and asked what the extra charge was for and why it wasn't subtracted from our credit.

The lady agreed it was their error. Okay. Whatever.

What was it for?? The final ultrasound on 12/31/08 before the Methotrexate injections. The doctor just did another quick check to make sure it wasn't a viable pregnancy. Well, evidently that quick check was "extra" since there is only 1 post-IVF ultrasound included in the thousands we paid for IVF. WHAT A JOKE!

And by the way, after looking through the bill it looks like they not only collect thousands from us for IVF, but then go ahead and bill the insurance for the blood draws and other ultrasounds during IVF. Nice double billing. Glad you're milking it for everything you can. I think it's safe to say we won't be going there again.
