Let's go fly a kite

not my photo
I just got home from an exhaustingly good day at work. I was in charge of the activity.

We made kites.
It was fairly easy and the kids had a lot of fun.

We didn't have a lot of wind, so imagine a group of children running wildly around and around the field trying to keep their kites up (me included).

I think it's safe to say we'll all sleep well tonight.

Rod found very easy, basic kite making instructions on this website: BigWindKites
We used bamboo bbq skewers instead of the coffee stirrer's they show in the video.

Rod and I even made one a few weeks ago to test it out and I was amazed at how well it flew.
It's a fun activity for a windy (or in our case not so windy) spring afternoon.
