Tiptoe through the tulips

This past week was my spring break.
It was really nice to have a break from the regular routine.

I did some spring cleaning.

I baked some healthy oatmeal bread.

I did a little sewing.

I did a little painting.

This was a mirror we found at a thrift store but I didn't like the color. I spray painted it to match our bedroom. I also started another painting project but neither the paint nor the weather cooperated...thus it has been postponed until summer

BEFORE

AFTER

I saw a movie with Jennifer (The Last Song)

I wrote some music.

I watched conference with Rod Sat and Sun.

I took a blustery-day walk with Rod.

And last but not least, I tiptoe'd through the tulips with Rod at the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival.
The weather was awful this past week. It rained almost the whole time. Rod and I originally were thinking of going to Port Angeles on the coast over the weekend, but since there was major rain and 60+ mph winds on the coast, it didn't sound like the best of vacations. So, we opted for something a little closer to home and took the day to drive up to the Tulip Festival and on to La Conner (where we'd spent some of our honeymoon almost 5 years ago). It was a fun day trip and although there was some major wind and rain, we still had a good time.

The wind was blowing so hard I almost blew away.

Here are a few shots from La Conner

Bunnies by the Bay is a darling little store - mostly with super soft baby clothes, blankies and stuffed bunnies.
hahaha! This picture of Rod is so hysterical. In the first photo I took, he had a fake robot smile so I told him to look like he was having a good time. Now that's what I call a face full of fun. (he said it was okay for me to post it. He's a good sport:) )

Today was back to work as usual but not without a morning trip to a French bakery in west Seattle with my mom, dad, Natalie, Jennifer and Sterling. Natalie, my niece Nicole, and my mom just returned from a week in France (I know, sigh). We all enjoyed hearing more about their trip as we dined on some French breakfast delicacies.

Work went well, although it seemed a bit louder than I remember...but maybe it's because I had a wonderfully quiet week. :)
