Sewin' and Growin'

Well it's about time!

After 4 months of putting them off and watching the fabric stare back at me, I finally finished some long overdue sewing projects!

Now I can finally get some new ones on my list.

#1: Ruffled pillow for the other front room chair

#2: Tiered ruffled tank transformation. Whew! This one took a while.

This is how it started....I bought 2 of the same cheap tank tops at Old Navy.
I cut one of them up and ruffled like crazy.

Drum roll please...

May I present, the new and improved tiered ruffled tank!
I'm very excited to finally have it done!

#3: Pink ruffled tee (of course it's ruffled!)

It went from this: (well, kind of - it's the exact same shirt, only in pink...)-
To this: (edit- the clown police called to invite me to the circus, so I have since taken the ruffles off the sleeves...)

The pictures are a little off on the color and don't do it justice, but I like how it turned out.

It's good to have those finally finished. All I have to say is I hope the whole ruffles trend lasts a long, long time. :)

And last but not least, it's the first time we've tried to grow our own tomatoes.
We bought one plant and put it in a pot on the back deck.

Keep your fingers crossed that we'll get lots of sun so they'll grow!

Ok so I think it's time to lay off the ruffles and I don't mean the chips! I think the next project should involve something a little more masculine to add a little balance to the apartment or my fear is Rod will have to go get the flaming shower curtains.

Good luck on the garden I hope it goes well.

Wow - what creativity! I love the remakes of the shirts. I saw a tiered tank in a store the other day almost just like that and it was $50!

Good luck with the tomatoes! We have a garden out back too - but I think we might get a bit more sun than you do out there.
