Finding motivation

One of my New Year's resolutions was to go walking every morning. As of yesterday, January 23rd, I had gone this many times: 0

I am happy to say that as of this morning, I can finally say I have gone once.
And Rod was sweet enough to go with me. It helps me a lot to have someone to go with.

I have to say, the odds were stacked against me. The alarm I set last night didn't go off (well, it did but the volume was turned all the way down). And when I did get up, with still enough time to go, Rod looked at me and said, "So, do you still want to go?"...with that "it would be okay if we didn't" tone - haha. I told him he can't ask me if I want to go because the answer would always be no. The fact is that I have to go, so I will go.

My mom goes walking every morning without fail. Even if it's windy, raining, snowing, hailing, not convenient, you name it. She is amazing. She said she has no excuses - she just does it. My dad exercises every day too. Does he love it? Probably not, but he does it anyway. Bob Greene (on Oprah) said real motivation has no excuses.

So we scrounged up our tennis shoes and jackets and off we went. Since we live in a more downtown area, I decided our route would lead up a huge winding hill into the neighborhoods. We got more bang for our buck going up that hill, I tell you. It pretty much never ended. But we felt great when we got home.

Will day one make day two that much easier? I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

You go girl! My goal for January was to finish first book of nephi. And ask me if I've even gotten my BoM out of storage??! Let's just say I have a lot of reading to do in the next few days. Hahaha

On a side note- I was at church yesterday and needed a pen and dug in my diaper bag and what did I find? Good ole Tupperware lady's pen! Hahahah thought if you. Hahaha
