In Memory

Sterling Lee Throssell
Age 97

I just returned from Eastern Washington (Yakima) for my grandpa's funeral. I am so glad I could be there to honor him and his life. Just a few years ago I sent him a birthday card with this saying in it. It matched exactly what I felt and typed up the words so I wouldn't forget them.

"A grandfather gives us a sense of pride in who we are and where we come from."

I will miss him and feel blessed to have had him as my grandfather. I am glad to know where I come from, and am proud to be part of his posterity. His courage, strength and perseverance are just a few of his qualities I will remember and hope to have myself.

This is one of my very favorite pictures of he and my mom.
