Let me explain further.
I'm guessing it was a marketing campaign gone sour.
We were meant to receive the invitation because it was a combined IVF Baby Reunion and "patient appreciation" party...remember, printed on baby feet paper. Sorry, the two are not something you can combine. You would think someone in this service would understand that. Obviously people who are broken-hearted about their failures would find it very difficult to come to a party celebrating everyone it worked for. No offense, it just hurts.
The 2nd part that made this not only insensitive but totally inappropriate, was adding a "drawing" to the event. "Ten winners will each receive credit towards IVF services!" How that translates: Hey everybody, it's an infertility carnival! Come and eat cotton candy and snow cones and sign up to win a baby! I can see it on a used car lot, but this is supposed to be a much more sensitive, personal service.
Whoever tried to bring more business in with this approach is sadly on the wrong track. I think I will send an email just to let them know even if they didn't mean it this way, it came out in a very insensitive way.
Okay, enough about that. I just had to get out the last few gripes! :)

these people are freaks. seriously, a drawing? it's all just a ploy to eat up more ppl's money. these ppl are sick.
ok, ditto what emily said! that is SO insensitive. i would totally write them an email just so maybe they can avoid offending anyone else in the future. what a bad marketing ploy!!
wow. that is totally insensitive. i'm so sorry. and i agree that you should lodge some kind of complaint or at least bring it to their attention how rude that was.
Why not toss in an egg hunt for embryos, too? I'm sorry. Totally insensitive and emailing them would be totally appropriate.
I am shocked. That is so insensitive and I would make that known to them. Its just unprofessional and inappropriate all together. I am sorry.
PS I voted for Adam too, sad he lost but happy for Kris all at the same time
