In our own backyard

Luscious, full blackberries...right off the vine.

I think these are plums...kind of pathetic that I'm not sure, since I grew up with this tree in my backyard.

And these are some of my favorite flowers...can I remember what they're called? No. Anyone??

And the spiders.
Yes, lots of spiders. I kind of forgot about them.
In the span of walking 2 steps I saw 5 of them.
Now I keep feeling like they're on me.

Current temp: 64 degrees, bright blue skies, subtle breeze. Perfect. I wish Rod was here to enjoy it too. Not too much longer!

Shannon,
Hi! It's Katherine (Morris----from Issaquah). Remember me? I found your blog through Melissa's. Hope you don't mind. So good to see what you're up to. How great that you got to move back to WA. Your pictures make me really miss it. I'm living down in the San Diego area now. I love it here, but it's not at all like WA. So happy for you and Rod. Good luck with your new job. Those are my favorite flowers too---hydrangeas. I love it because they don't require any "arranging" when you put them in a vase.

Welcome home!!!! We have those same "lovely" spiders in our backyard...and sometimes our house. We woke up one morning and found one had made a web between two of our kitchen chairs...and yes, the spider was still in the middle. I made my hubby get it OUT of my house. Anyway, blackberries YUM and they grow on the side of the road like weeds...funny huh. Can't wait to see you and hang out with you....Maija

Only YOU should be so lucky! Yep, they are hydraneas and they WON'T grow in Utah because of the acidity or lack of it in the soil...sigh~ You better whip up a pie pretty darn quick...

We miss you two already.

I can't wait for our blackberries to grow up and produce some fruit. On the up side they wont have thorns when they get growing.

I bevieve your right those look like white or golden plums

How dreamy! I want to eat blackberries off the vine! I used to do that when I was growing up in CA. I'll have to plant some next year. Washington looks so beautiful. What a great place to be.
