Since traffic and parking down town Seattle during a Mariner's game is atrocious, we decided to take the bus [*sorry the pictures are dark - I don't have Photoshop anymore so I can't edit them]
We were both a little nervous and hoped we would actually get there.
First stop - International District. We decided not to transfer to our 2nd bus and just walk instead, since it wasn't far to Safeco Field from there.
The first pitch was thrown by the old basketball coach at my old high school. Go Coach Pepple!
Here are more pictures of the fun.
After the game, we were all going to go out for dessert, so we decided we'd take a bus home with Maija and James, go to dessert and then they would drop us off at our park and ride.
Well...after waiting a half an hour at a very crowded bus stop in Seattle (without a bus), we decided we had to take a rain check on dessert. Rod and I headed back to the International District bus station and luckily found a bus leaving shortly after 11pm.
I don't know about you, but I'm not very comfortable at a downtown Seattle bus depot at 11pm. Maybe I'm just paranoid. Whatever my state of mind was, I hate to say it but I turned into one of those people I hate. The bus stop was crowded. We were in the International District. It was 11pm. We were first time bus people. It was pouring rain. Just kidding it wasn't raining. I was just desperate to get on that bus.
I did the "walk up to the schedule, find your bus time, and stand there without looking back." Yes there were people who had gotten there before us. I could feel their eyes staring into my back. I'm sorry to say I was willing to leap over the elderly and small children to get on that bus. It was not a proud moment. AND, as luck would have it, Seattle buses let you stand. Everyone got on the bus. I. felt. stupid. Paranoia does ugly things to a person.
We got home and Maija and James finally caught another bus and a taxi to get home. In any event we had a great night. Thanks again Maija and James! Sorry Seattle bus passengers! I was having a moment.

We had a blast too. Email me the pics please.
PS. Some of your pictures are a little funky in this post...I think the formatting went wacko on you.

Looks like fun! I love all your great pictures! My niece and nephew (with spouses) attended a mariners game labor day week-end!
I just love Mariners games. The atmosphere is just so much fun.
