GREAT NEWS!

Some of you don't know, but the job I have is only substitute status. They started me as a sub (without an interview) and I was waiting until November when they could ask me to come on permanently, based on my performance.

Lo and behold, Friday I was asked to come on permanently as a district employee, after only about 20 days on the job. Woohoo! Now I'll be able to get benefits, time off, and all the other perks of being employed by the district.

I've really worked hard to make a good impression. My manager said he's been very impressed with me and didn't want to wait any longer to get me on permanently.

We are very happy! I'm hoping now I can find another p/t job that will fit with my schedule and look to the future for full-time employment with a school.

Rod is still looking but nothing has come through yet. We know someone is looking out for us though, so we know it will happen when the time and job are right.

Still back and forth living some of the time with my parents and some of the time at the ranch. We are so lucky to have such a great family who is so willing to help. We're hoping to find a place of our own so we can get settled. It's a little tricky trying to get into a place without a full-time income, but we're hoping some how some way. :)
