Updates from Washington's newest residents

It's been a while! We are staying up at my parent's property in a little town called Cle Elum (about 90 miles east of the Seattle area). We just got internet a few days ago so I feel like I can finally catch up with the world!

My job is going well. I love the kids I work with. It takes a lot of energy, but it's energy well spent! The commute is 1-1/2 hrs each way, so I'm pretty drained by the time I get home each night at 7:30pm but it's doable. We are so grateful to my parents for letting us stay here until we get a place of our own. It's beautiful out here. It's like living in another world compared to the hustle and bustle of the city.

My parents took us to the Ellensburg Rodeo - Extreme Bull Riders Competition last week. So cool to watch. It rained really hard all day so we had to find rain gear...pretty much every town from Cle Elum to Ellensburg was sold out but luckily my parents were able to find some. I got to wear my tight ski pants. Not tight as in "cool"...tight as in tight. :) Then as luck would have it, the rain had stopped by the time the competition started.

I tried to post a bull riding clip but it won't work for some reason.

Anywho, life is great! More updates to come!

i love a good rodeo. how cool there is one in ellensburg.

its funny - i've never looked to see where cle elum was on a map- i didn't realize is was smack dab in the middle of the state. and oh, how i love the ranch. and love the 2 pictures you included. are those sunflowers in the front garden? and what kind of fruit is on that tree? i've never seen it like that before. maybe cuz i've never been there in the fall. so beautiful. i would love to see more pictures throughout the fall and winter of the ranch to see how it changes through the seasons.

Thanks for the update~ 1 1/2 hours EACH WAY?!? I don't believe it. But then again, you are removed from the hustle and bustle and I'm sure it's worth it...
Loved the photo of the cowboys in their chaps...mmmm..mmm...

Where are you thinking of living? Have fun in Cle Elum. You should go to the church ranch where we had Girls' Camp for old times' sake :)
