An afternoon in Mukilteo

Wondering how to pronounce Mukilteo? Here are some clues: Muk (as in muck) il (said quickly so it sounds like ul) and teo (as in Geo). There you go. Now you sound like a native.

Anywho, it was time for a little Saturday adventure to the seashores of the beautiful Puget Sound...about 25 miles north of Seattle, to be exact. It was so gorgeous. Mountain views, a Ferry crossing and Whidbey Island (an adventure for another day).

There is a lovely little lighthouse there that I wanted to see. Unfortunately, as is the case with our other lighthouse adventure, it was closed and fenced off. BUT we did get to roam the beach and take pictures anyway. It was freezing, but so beautiful. Yet another day that confirms why I love living in the oh so beautiful pacific northwest!

After Mukilteo, we attempted to go to a mall on our way home...but we were quickly reminded that Saturdays at the mall at this time of year are a no-no. The traffic just to get in the mall parking lot was backed up for miles. Exit stage left - back to the freeway.

So instead, we headed across the bridge to University Village in Seattle. It's a very cool place to shop and I hadn't been there in years. It was especially fun to have all the Christmas lights up and stores decorated. My favorite place to drop in, of course, was Anthropologie.

Luckily we missed most of the Husky football game traffic and are now home nice and snug. It's been so cold here lately! But it's not raining, so I'll take the cold any day!
