I feel like it was over and gone before it really sunk in.
It was so great to have everyone home!!
Hopefully my memory will still serve me well when I'm 90 because I don't have the brain power to write all the details I would have written, had I written this several weeks ago!
Emily's blog has the best descriptions and pictures. Thanks Emily. I knew the temptation to refer to your blog would be too great.
A quick run-down...
12/19 - crazy gifting at Factoria Mall
we pick names and then set off for 20 minutes and $5.00 to find something that reminds us of the person we picked. A little heart racing and nail biting is good at this time of year, isn't it? We always have a lot of fun. My brother-in-law Dave had my name. He got me the DVD Twister and a crass holiday card. He knows me too well.12/20 - dinner at Natalie's with the giant twinkie cake
You don't want to know. It started with deliciously creamy custard and turned quickly into a sinking ship of drippy custard. Rod called it a giant twinkie. The tasty chocolate frosting masked an oozing, discombobulated mess. If only I could hide all my flaws with chocolate frosting.

12/21 - worked at the school - went to see New Moon with Nicole...What can I say, I just had to see it one more time before I wait for it to come out on DVD.
12/22 - got my hair done - woohoo!
12/23 -
worked at the school - met up with family for the play A Christmas Carol. A fabulous family tradition. I love it so bad. We all do. We quote lines all through the year. It's a Christmas must!

It's a Christmas must!12/24 - Christmas Eve - We had Christmas around the world for dinner again this year. I tried to bring a Mediterranean lentil salad gone wrong and ended up throwing it away because seriously? I wasn't even edible. Rod made delicious German potatoes. We had a fun evening complete with the chocolate fountain, singing, the Christmas story reading from the Bible by my dad and each opening one present.
12/25 - Christmas morning. Never sleep in and hello, let me wake up when I'm supposed to be leaving to eat breakfast with the fam. Enjoyed a wonderful meal and fun times with the family at my parent's house.
12/27 - Jakes 12th bday and Priesthood ordination
12/28 - Took Jake and his friend to the skatepark
Jake LOVES to go skateboarding so I wanted to do a little something special for him during the break. I took him and his friend to a nearby skate park. It was fun to see them do their tricks and get some action shots. I have to admit, it was fun to get my beefy camera out again. It's been a while.
12/29...30...31...1/1/10 - I don't know.... We had plans to go to the ranch with everyone, but at the last minute we couldn't go up because of the snowy conditions on the mountain pass. :( We hung out here in the rain and cleaned and shopped for chairs.
On New Year's Eve we watched a movie at home and I ended up waking Rod up at 11:45pm to celebrate with me as we rang in 2010. We are party animals!
Fast forward to last weekend 1/9 in Salt Lake for our niece Chieli's baptism.
What a special day! (A word to my Utah based friends - it was a very quick weekend...so we had to save visits for summer...). We were so happy to be there for Chieli's baptism. She turned 12 in January and her only wish was to be baptized. What a special girl. We are so proud of her!
It was so fun to get to see all of our family and spend lots of time together in such a short time span. From a baptism to a girlie slumber party to a day of church activities and games. We had a lot of fun spending time with everyone!
Chieli's special treat for her special day
Can you say slumber party??
