And they call it high cholesterol

Isn't blogging all about over-sharing? So why not.

I found out a few days ago that I have high cholesterol. Crazy. Should it surprise me? Forty years of fast food, girl scout cookies, ice cream and Doritos? I guess it shouldn't, but it was quite a wake up call. And the news, I might add, came just after buying a few boxes of Samoas from a girl scout at church.

It was a little hard to digest (not the samoas, I'm officially off of them). When my doctor said she didn't treat high cholesterol I still found myself thinking, "That's nice, but why are you telling me?" Hello. She's talking about you.

The good news is, that I'm taking it very seriously. I started making dietary changes immediately and see this as a permanent lifestyle change.

It stinks that it had to come to this for me to realize that you need to be purposeful in what you choose to eat, because it really does matter, but glad that it's not too late to make changes.

Hello tofu and oatmeal. You may just be my new best friends.

Oh, and P.S. on a totally unrelated note, I think the bachelor ends up with Emily. Did you see his slight smile at the mere mention of Emily's name?? It's so going to be her. I'll bet you a bag of low-sodium rice cakes.

you are very observant! i thought it was chantal all along- but jeremy checked the spoiler website- reality steve- and it says its emily he's engaged to. goes to show you that the show's editors always make it look like its gonna be the opposite! ya know? they always make things look a little awkward b/w him and emily - but always show him with chantal being really relaxed and fun and saying how much she loves him, etc

but i'm still excited to see the finale! i wonder how he's gonna dump chantal?!?!

anywho - sorry to hear about the cholesterol :(

Bummer about your cholesterol! Sometimes it isn't just about diet, so don't be too hard on yourself... Even if they say you are what you eat :) We got some GS cookies, and it was weird how neither of us thought they were as good as we remember them being. So think about that each time you desire a GS treat. If it makes you feel any better health-wise, I was super stressed last week and my head was pounding. I felt like I was going to spontaneously combust. I went to the clinic, sat in a chair, and had B take my BP. 156/102. That's bad. Like, really bad. Like, my thoughts that I was going to have a stroke/aneurysm/heart attack right then and there were pretty darn accurate. So, enjoy! I meditated and got it back down. But yikes!
Bachelor- I haven't been able to see girls tell all yet. B had a test today, so we will watch it when we get home. But b called it weeks ago that he will pick Emily. We were afraid she might break his heart at first cause she didn't seem super interested. But that's improved. He is so gaga for her! So great. He has broken a couple rules by telling her certain things which I thought was cute and funny.
Wish we could have a finale party!

My HDL's are in the 40's and they should be in the 60's. Join the club to eating healthier! I gotta exercise, eat more fish and get my omega 3's. I know you can do this!
