When we got our first round of unsettling news, Natalie and Dave treated us to a night out on the town! We had a delicious meal at Market Street Grill, and saw a movie. It was a much needed break from reality. We will always be grateful.
We got to see A Christmas Carol for a sprinkling of the Christmas spirit. It was really fun to keep the tradition alive!

We went to see the lights at Temple Square in Salt Lake with Rod's side of the family. It was cold but the lights are so pretty.

After we received our last bit of bad news, we just needed to get away. We drove up to Salt Lake and stayed in a beautiful room at the Little America hotel. It was just what we needed.

And last but not least...aaahh, cupcakes. Rod took me to Dear Lizzie, a really cute little shop and bistro in Highland, with beautiful cupcakes. We shared a vanilla cupcake with layered blue and white frosting. Scrumptious! Only a real man would accompany his wife in this dainty boutique and share a cupcake with her. :) My sweet Rod is the BEST!
