Latest Happenings

It's been a while since I last posted.

I started a new job and am really liking it. I'm conducting reading, math and science assessments to 4th and 8th grade students at various schools in the area. I work with a group of 4 other women (although I administer my tests independently) and all of them are really nice. It's been a good experience so far.

We spend part of the time preparing all the testing materials, another part administering the assessments in the schools, and the remaining time coding the booklets and getting all the materials ready to send back for scoring. It's a great job, and although it's temporary, I am really happy to be doing it for the next couple months.

IVF related updates...

Rod and I still haven't heard back from the U of U about an IVF appointment yet. I have been continuing with my weekly blood tests and my HCG numbers are still going down. Last Friday my number was still at 217, so I still have a ways to go until it reaches zero. I have another blood test on Friday and hope the #'s will have fallen a lot more.

The good news is that we found out we only have to wait 3 months to try again, so that puts us at mid-April. We were afraid it was a 6 month waiting period after Methotrexate, but we're glad to hear it's shorter.

We really don't know what we're doing for sure. I've heard mixed things about the U of U, but it seems everything has two sides. We're looking at all our options and trying to make a good decision. That's all we can do for now.

Hi!! Good to see another post! Sounds like things are going well! 3 months IS good news, and dropping numbers are good news as well...as far as decisions, sometimes there are no right/wrong decisions, just the BEST decision that is for you!

Thank your for your empathy and encouraging words. I am feeling better and better everyday. You are so right though about feeling vulnerable because you are so dependent on others with IVF, its not in your control which is hard. I enjoy reading your blog and I am so sorry for the struggles you have dealt with as well. I am glad that you only have to wait 3 months, that will fly by, plus the weather will be warmer and the birds chirping! Are you on a waiting list to meet with a certain dr at the U or just to get an appt? I can't believe there is a long wait.
Thanks again, Mandy
