Happy Birthday to Moi!

I had such a FANTASTIC birthday! I had to create a post on the 14th and then logout, just so it would show up as my birth date even though I had to post it later. ha!

Where to begin.

How about Pizza?!

We met at the Flying Pie in downtown Issaquah after work for some great pizza and celebrating.

And sweet mother 'o mine baked me a heavenly Angel Food Cake with pink frosting. My favorite since I was little. (sorry, the picture's a little weird)
THEN we were off for our birthday adventure downtown Seattle. Natalie and Dave, Jennifer and Scott and my mom and dad gave us a night's stay at the Weston for my gift. It was WONDERFUL!

Ever since I can remember, I was fascinated with the tall circular hotels in Seattle and imagined what it would be like to stay there. My wish came true. (I took these pictures the next day on our walk around town)

We arrived at around 7:30pm

I don't remember staying somewhere that had so many elevator buttons!
Our Seattle view from the room

It was so amazing! I didn't want to go to sleep because I had to keep staring out the giant windows that basically made up the wall facing the city. I loved it so much. It was fascinating to imagine all the things that were going on out there and what people were doing.

Our view in the day light

The curve of the building (I still couldn't get over the fact that we had stayed at the circular hotel I'd always dreamed about)

We were only a few blocks from Pike Place Market, so in the morning we walked down to join the hustle and bustle of the market.

If you look closely you can see him throwing a fish (it's right by the pole)

And my old friend mister pig (giant piggy bank - maybe he'll bring me wealth this year!) P.S. Rod gave me the beautiful cream scarf I'm wearing - way to pick out a good one!
The gum wall. I'd never heard of this before until Nicole posted about going there. I didn't add a piece and I certainly didn't take a piece.

A little piece of France. They have the best crepes!! We had to splurge for a birthday treat.
They are made on a giant round heated plate
We shared a #13: Fresh strawberries, vanilla cream, powdered sugar, whipped cream. Oh my. It was incredible.

Of course, we have to have our one crazy photo holding our own camera

Thank you to everyone for your thoughtful cards, emails, gifts, calls and well wishes. It was a birthday that will go down in the books as a GREAT one! Here's to still being in my 30's!!
