More t-shirt reconstructions

More transformations from clearance to classy!

Tank top to short-sleeved top
From 2 of these (I bought 2 and cut one up)-

to this:

I lowered the belt line, added sleeves and used a technique called ruching for the ruffles (see tutorial for more info). You use a straight stitch in a zig zag pattern and gather, instead of just straight lines for regular ruffles. I used a couple different techniques for these ruched strips, making two a little fuller and the other two a little less full.

Next up: Men's t-shirt to women's top with an embellished neckline :
From this plain cream mens t-shirt:

To this:
I had seen a top like this at Kohl's and decided to copy the design and make my own.

Old shirts to new shirts

I took these 2 clearance rack t-shirts that we already had in the house (sorry, no offense cougars) and cut off the fronts and sleeves. I created a new neckline, sewed the backs together and put the sleeves back on with a feminine touch (slightly puffy). And presto chang-o - I had created a new shirt.

For the embellishments, I cut up this Old Navy clearance striped cream and blue jersey shirt.

And this is what I ended up with:

I added a cream button to the neckline

Next week I go back to work full-time for the summer program. I've got to get as much sewing in as possible because I know after the long work days I probably won't have much energy left. We'll see what I come up with!
