I had an a-ha moment while talking to one of my sisters.Concerning emotional eating...
"It's not about food. If it was about food [or really being hungry], I could eat fruit and vegetables all day."
It all clicked. It's so not about the food. If you were really hungry you could eat all the best foods until you were full. If it was just about food, there would be no emotion tied to it. No need to find comfort through it. If it was just about food, it would be eating to fill actual hunger which really doesn't require very much.
I've been walking every day this week and now I'm trying to focus on a healthier diet.
Here's my new motto:
Feel it, don't eat it.
How's that for wise words?! :)

Next time I'm frustrated, I am just going to go to town on a bag of carrots :)
If it makes you feel any better, I've gained 45 lbs since Jan 1st of this year. So painful!
