9 days in and going strong

Well, we're 9 days into the Lupron shots and may have finally figured out how to do it right! Last night and tonight were easy shmeazy. Tonight I iced for 5 minutes before hand which worked great - I barely felt a thing. Rod's doing such a great job! He's a champ!!

I'm feeling a little tense about this week because...

Friday I have an ultrasound to check my ovaries and a blood draw to check Estradiol levels. The ultrasound is not supposed to be very comfortable - won't share the ugly details - and really I have no idea what Estradiol is, so enjoy that. Not very fond of blood draws, but hey, getting stabbed in the stomach for 9 days in a row may have taken the edge off.

PLUS

Sunday I start the big drugs: the "stimulation cocktail".

We get to mix drugs with other drugs using bigger needles...welcome to Chemistry. Thank goodness Rod did better in Chemistry than I did.

All the drugs I've taken so far have been to suppress my system. The drug mixture on Sunday will be to speed things up (make lots of eggs in a short amount of time). The side-effects associated with those meds are supposed to be much more apparent. I'm hoping the bigger needle won't be any big deal, now that I have my new super duper icing technique!

P.S. I just realized that once I start the "cocktail" this coming Sunday (11/23) we'll only have 12 days left until egg retrieval!! Holy carumba! That just made my stomach all jumbly. I'm excited! :)

I'm so glad that you found a way to make the needles easier to bear! It sounds like things are going the way they are supposed to! It's only a matter of days now! We are all jumbly for you as well! Continued good luck!!!
